Meet the South Yarra d-spa team

Dr. Robert Cox, Principal Dentist

Commencing at d-spa in 2012, Dr. Robert Cox is the principal dentist at our South Yarra practice. Having graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2005, Dr. Cox served five years in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), working as a dentist in various city and country locations throughout Victoria, whilst also working in the private practice sector.

He was initially motivated to enter the dental professional after witnessing firsthand the direct and significantly positive impact dentistry could have on people’s lives and cites an enjoyable patient experience as being his main concern: “I have a gentle approach and like to keep patients informed throughout the procedure so they know what to expect.”
Dr. Cox’s dental philosophy centres on providing professional, tailored, high-quality dentistry in a friendly, caring environment and he says that the most enjoyable aspect of his role is "getting to know patients and being able to make a real difference to their oral health and appearance.", Dr. Cox takes great pride in ensuring he gets to know each of his patients.

During his time away from the dental chair, Dr. Cox enjoys cycling, skiing, playing the guitar, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jennifer Aston, Dental Hygienist

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Newcastle in 2012, she then went on to complete additional further education to help support her growing love for all things dental, such as- In-office whitening for Dental Practitioners Certificate, Certificate III in Dental Assisting, and a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting.

Joining our d-spa hygienist team in May 2014, Jennifer has made a positive impact on enhancing our patient’s oral health knowledge – “As a dental hygienist, I am most excited to meet new people and form relationships with patients that will hopefully continue for many years. I am most passionate about being able to make a difference in someone’s oral health. Smiles are contagious and people should share them! D-spa has a fun vibrant culture and we all enjoy working with each other and hang out on weekends like an extended family.”

When Jennifer isn’t busy crusading against cavities she loves to explore different wine regions, travelling to “anywhere hot with cocktails served in a coconut”, as well as visiting her family in Sydney.

Stephanie Chang, Oral Health Therapist/Dental Hygienist

Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Oral Health at The University of Melbourne in 2012 and we’ve been lucky enough to have her working at our South Yarra practice for almost 2 years.

Our patients at d-spa will find Stephanie advising them on maintaining optimal oral health, as well as offering them insights into how they can maintain their oral health routine at home. Stephanie loves working here at d-spa – “We have a great team who are friends in and outside of work. Our supportive and diverse team allows us to provide optimum care to all of our patients”.

You may not know it but Stephanie is an accomplished musician, she plays both the piano and guitar, as well as having the voice of an angel! “I’ve performed at a few of my friends’ weddings which is always fun and a great opportunity to learn new songs”.

When she is not busy being musical, Stephanie can be found getting active by swimming, running, and cycling.
